The Lingo Club recently hosted a guest lecture on March 27 at Letterkenny Institute of Technology.
David Broderick, manager of the Export Orientation Programme(EOP), and Daphné Carthy, a recent participant of the programme, both gave presentations to LyIT and local second level students.
David Broderick described the EOP programme briefly, emphasising the enormous opportunities which exist for graduates with language skills. He explained that participants have the option of working abroad in various mainland European countries or in Ireland. Graduates, who have participated in the programme, find that there are wonderful career prospects leading from the programme. For more information, please see David’s presentation attached.
Daphné Carthy, who has recently completed her placement with Bord Bia on the EOP, described her experience working abroad in Düsseldorf and Paris. She found that her proficiency in both French and German were an enormous asset in securing her placement on the programme. For more information, please see Daphné’s testimonial.
